What made you want to learn BSL?
In 2016 I got work with the Graeae Theatre Company, who have created an amazing platform for artists who are deaf or live with a disability. At the showcase, one particular piece stood out, performed by a deaf and a blind artist- it was so powerful, I instantly said “I want to learn Sign Language.” So I have!
What film(s) can you watch over and over again?
I am a sucker for a chick flick, and anything with Tom Hanks in it! so Sleepless in Seattle or You’ve Got Mail. I love these films. They are so cheesy and always bring out the hopeless romantic in me! A film I have on repeat come rain or shine, is Breakfast at Tiffany’s – Audrey Hepburn is one of my inspirations.
Dream Role
I would really love to be a character in the Marvel or DC Cinematic Universe. I am a comic book and film enthusiast and have always imagined what it would be like to see someone like me, a South Asian actress in one of those Blockbuster hits.
Of course, we have Mindy Kaling and Priyanka Chopra and they are killing it, but there are more of us out there!
